16-inch Tahitian Pearl Necklace

Q: I am interested in purchasing a Tahitian Pearl necklace but would prefer a 16 inch length over the 18 inch shown. Is it possible to have the length changed? If so, what is the time line for making the change. Would the price change? Would it be possible to have the pearls taken from the necklace made into stud earrings? I'm in somewhat of a time crunch so if it would be possible to respond on Monday the 2nd of April I'd really appreciate it.

A: Yes, we certainly could make a strand for you at 16”. All the listed items are at 18” which is the most popular length. However, we can either shorten a strand already on the site, or match pearls to make a custom strand at 16”. The discounted price will be based on the number of pearls removed from a strand in stock, or the number of pearls used to make a new strand. If you were to purchase an existing strand and keep all the pearls, then the price would remain the same. Those pearls taken off the strand could be made into dangle style earrings but not studs, as the pearls are already drilled completely through for the strand. The dangle style will work as we can put a headpin in the hole at the bottom of the pearl which would not show when the earrings are on the ear. The additional cost for the dangle earrings would depend on the style of finding selected. If you see any of the dangle styles already made up and listed on the site that you like, we can take those pearls off your strand and make the earrings with the findings of your choice. If you prefer a stud style earring, you may purchase those as a separate item listed on the site. We would automatically match the earrings to the strand if the items are purchased on the same order.
