Replace Diamond with Pearl

Q: I recently bought a new engagement ring and had the diamond from my original ring put in the new band. The diamond is only about a half carat so the original setting is fairly small. I would love to set a pink pearl in the original band. Do you have pearls that might work for this? And, if so, could you set it as well?

A: The short answer is yes, we could add a pearl to your diamond band. The basket or prong setting on the ring would have to be removed and replaced with a single post to mount the pearl. Once that is done by our bend jeweler, we could set a pearl of your size and color choice on the ring. Depending on how much work we would need to do on the ring, the labor charge would be approximately $40.00. The price of the pearl itself will depend on the type, size and quality of the pearl. The whole process will take about a week to a week and a half. Should you decide to proceed with the project, let me know the details for your pearl choice and I can get you a closer estimate of the final price.

If you take a look in the earring section at the freshwater and Freshadama pearls to get an idea of size and quality, I can give you a price for the pearl itself. Thank you for your inquiry and I look forward to assisting you with your project.
