Q: My boyfriend purchased a Tahitian pearl on a 14k white gold chain for me last Christmas. This past weekend, I caught it on something and it stretched, but didn't break. If it would have broken, my pearl would've fallen down a 150 ft. well!! I would like to replace the chain and have one with the same integrity, but I can't find an area on your website to do that. Can you help me?
A: It sounds like you are describing the snake chain we have on the Solitaire piece. The chain by itself is not currently listed on the site and for the Solitaire piece, the pearl needs to be permanently affixed to the chain so you wouldn’t be able to simply slide the pearl onto the chain. If you can let me know the type and length of chain, we can be certain of what we need to do and I will be able to give you pricing. The Solitaire necklace would need to be sent to our goldsmith to have the pearl re-set onto the chain. Generally this only takes a few days to do this and then send it back to you.
If you are interested in having us replace the chain, please let me know the information above and we can proceed from there. Should you be uncertain about the chain, we could look up the original order with the name of the person on that order.
Thank you for your inquiry and we’re glad you didn’t lose the pearl!
