"Add a Pearl" Strands

Q: Do you sell Add A Pearls?

A: Add-a-pearl necklaces have a variety of complications that make them much more difficult to assemble in the traditional fashion. It's a lovely idea with great sentiment but needs to be approached in a different manner today. Most of our customers who are giving Add-a-Pearls to a loved one will purchase an unknotted strand of pearls, also called a loose hank, and give the pearls one at a time from the already matched and drilled strand.

One of the advantages of going about the project this way is the cost. By purchasing an already matched, drilled and strung strand you are certain to have matched pearls. They will all age at the same rate, the size graduation is smooth, and you can decide in what order to gift the pearls. The traditional method of purchasing a single pearl for each gift involves searching out a single pearl with the same overtone, luster quality, a determination of the size graduation, and potentially a different size drill-hole. By purchasing the pearls one at a time, the final cost is considerably higher, not to mention your time and effort. The cost for a loose hank is lower than purchasing one pearl at a time and reduces the need for chasing down single pearls each time you would like to add to the young ladies collection.
