Mikimoto Pearl Necklace

Q: I have on hold at the Mikimoto store on Fifth Avenue a 22-inch strand of 9.5 - 10mm A+ pinkish white Akoya pearls, which, including a rather elaborate diamond clasp, are priced at $63,000. Today I've been reading things on www.Pearl-Guide.com and other sites that make me think it is foolish to buy these at Mikimoto. Is anything of similar specs available through you, preferably of a higher grade?

A: It’s good you are doing your homework before making a final decision! We currently have a 9 ½ - 10.0 mm Akoya pearl strand available in AAA quality at $30,000 which currently is 18” in length. If you would like to make it into a 22”, we will need to add 4 more inches of 10.0mm pearls. The total price with a standard gold clasp for the 22” would be approximately $37,000.

If you have an idea about the clasp as far as style and diamond or no diamond, let me know that as well and I can email you photos of clasp options. The final price would be determined by the strand plus the clasp choice.
