Q: In searching by size, when I look in the 6.5mm & 7.0mm category, and then in the “6.5-7.0mm AA+ or AAA Quality White Cultured Akoya Pearl Bracelet (7.5-inch)” category, the actual bracelet header says “7.5-inch 7.0mm AA+ or AAA White Akoya Pearl Bracelet.” What should I expect exactly in terms of size on this bracelet? Would the pearls on the “7.5-inch 7.0mm AA+ or AAA White Akoya Pearl Bracelet” range from 6.5mm to 7.0mm or would they all be about 7.0mm?
A: It seems you found a typing error on that item that I will go in and fix this morning. As is industry standard with Akoya pearls, the size range for each strand (or bracelet) is .5mm. So the bracelet in question will be 6.5-7.0mm. The size graduation is very subtle with the smallest pearls next to the clasp and gradually getting larger towards the centre. This means that the smallest pearls will be no smaller than 6.5mm and the largest will be no larger than 7.0mm. To the naked eye, the pearls will seem uniform in size but that .5mm range allows for ease of matching.
We strive for clarity in our descriptions indicating the quality and the size range for each item but apparently we missed this item. I will be double checking all the descriptions to make sure the information is included.
