Q: I have a ring setting that I would like to buy a Hanadama or AAA grade (white/rose) akoya pearl for. How do I go about purchasing one? I know I could buy a pair of earrings and remove the mounting, but pearls can crack or be scratched if you do that, and I really would rather not take that chance.
A: We do have single Akoya pearls in AAA quality available that are half-drilled and unmounted. We can either send you the pearl by itself or if you prefer, we can mount the pearl into your ring setting. I’ll be happy to give you a price for each of those options but will need to know the size of the pearl. Once you make your final choice we’ll proceed from there.
Should you decide to send your ring setting here, it would only take a few business days to mount the pearl and send it back to you. If you prefer to purchase the pearl alone and have it set locally, we can most likely ship the pearl to you on the same day it’s ordered.
